Care Requirements

Drawing on our 20 years of experience in this industry, we’ve engaged in extensive discussions to identify the best furniture and products for demand in the hospitality sector. However, we understand that care-related questions may still arise from time to time. For this we have the care summary.

   How to take care Fabric

Caring for Your Outdoor Furniture

One of the best ways to keep your outdoor furniture looking its best is to act quickly. This means brushing off dirt from the fabric before it becomes embedded and wiping up spills as soon as they occur. We also recommend giving your outdoor furniture a weekly rinse or more often as needed.

General Cleaning

    • Remove Debris: Use a soft brush to remove any debris from the furniture.

    • Dampen the Fabric: Lightly spray the fabric with water or a gentle solution of mild soap and warm water (max 40°C/104°F). Gently work the solution into the fabric and let it sit for 2-3 minutes. Rinse with clean water, then wipe with a soft, dye-free cloth or towel and allow to air dry.

    • Avoid Power Washers: Do not use a power washer to clean or rinse your outdoor furniture.

Professional Cleaners

Ensure that your chosen professional cleaner has experience with outdoor fabrics and understands their cleaning and maintenance requirements. For more information, please contact us at [insert contact information].

Oil-Based Stains

Immediately apply an absorbent material, such as corn starch, directly to the oil-based stain. Let it sit for 10 minutes, then gently scrape off the excess with a straight edge or ruler. This helps lift the stain and prevents it from setting deeper into the fabric. Afterward, proceed with your regular cleaning process.

Seam-to-Seam Cleaning

When cleaning upholstered pieces, clean the entire surface area from seam to seam, rather than just the affected area. This approach, combined with the use of an extractor, helps prevent water rings and stains.

Mold and Mildew Stains

While Apsara outdoor fabric is resistant to mildew, it can still develop if dirt or other substances are not removed. To treat mold or mildew:

    1. Prepare a solution of 250ml (1 cup) of bleach, 60ml (1/4 cup) of mild soap, mixed with 4L (1 gallon) of water.

    1. Spray the solution on the affected area and allow it to soak into the fabric for 15 minutes.

    1. Clean the entire surface area with a sponge, clean towel, or very soft bristle brush.

    1. Rinse thoroughly to remove all soap residue.

    1. Allow to air dry.

For severe mold or mildew growth, you may increase the amount of bleach used. It’s best to clean the entire surface to avoid water rings and stains.

Cleaning Instructions

Promptly addressing spills and stains makes them easier to remove. We recommend a weekly rinse of your outdoor furniture, or as needed. Spray on a mild cleaning solution or fabric cleaner, gently brush it into the fabric, let it sit for 2-3 minutes, then rinse with clean water and wipe with a soft, dye-free cloth or towel. Allow to air dry.

Helpful Hints

    • Clean the entire surface area of the fabric to prevent water rings and stains.

    • Avoid scrubbing, hard bristle brushes, or abrasive cleaning methods.

    • Allow outdoor fabric to air dry only.

    • Chemical solvents may discolor outdoor fabrics, so protect the surrounding area while cleaning. Always rinse the fabric thoroughly.

    • Bleach can harm the environment; please follow all safety and environmental precautions as per the bleach label.

    • If you’re unsure, test the cleaning product in an inconspicuous area first to ensure it won’t damage the material. Begin with the weakest solution and gradually move to stronger ones.

How to take care seat and cushion

Over time, your new sofa will develop a soft, lived-in appearance. Using your furniture is the best way to achieve maximum comfort and the desired aesthetic. For the most consistent results, we recommend rotating loose seat and back cushions regularly to ensure even wear.

If your sofa features feather cushions, they will require a bit more care. The soft feather blend in the cushions is secured in channels, similar to a high-quality duvet. It’s normal for channel lines to be slightly visible on the surface of some fabrics or leathers; this is a characteristic of premium feather blend cushioning.

To maintain comfort and support, gently pat the filling toward the center of the seat cushions and plump the back cushions regularly. Softer fibers provide personal comfort, while firmer fibers offer resilient bounce-back.

Removable Tailored Covers

After years of enjoying your furniture, you’ll appreciate that the tailored covers can be easily removed and replaced for a fresh new look.

How to care for Teak and other Hardwood

About Hardwood

Hardwood is exceptionally durable timber for outdoor furniture. Its density and naturally high oil content help prevent rot and protect against fungi and wood-boring pests. To enhance its durability, our products are finished with an outdoor oil coating.

When exposed to outdoor elements, teak gradually develops a beautiful silver-grey patina. This natural characteristic not only enhances the wood’s aesthetic appeal but also strengthens its defenses against external conditions over time. The rate of weathering depends on factors such as climate, exposure to the elements, and the level of care and maintenance.

Despite weathering, teak can be restored to its original appearance with deep cleaning and maintenance of its protective coating. Here are our guidelines for maintaining both original and weathered teak.

General Care and Maintenance

During the outdoor season, we recommend weekly cleaning. Here’s how to care for your Hardwood furniture:

    • Sweep: Use a soft hand brush to remove debris.

    • Wash: Clean with mild (pH-neutral) soapy water using a microfiber cloth or sponge. Rinse with water to keep the teak wet, and always wipe in the direction of the wood grain.

    • Immediate Cleanup: Promptly clean fallen leaves, bird droppings, and any food or beverage spills to prevent staining and mold.

    • Object Movement: Regularly move vases and pottery to avoid staining and mold buildup. Avoid plastic tablecloths, as they can hinder moisture circulation around the timber.

    • Storage: Cover furniture during off-seasons and avoid allowing water to pool on surfaces.

    • Temperature Consideration: Avoid cleaning in direct sunlight, and ensure the furniture is cool before starting the cleaning process.

    • Protective Measures: Wear gloves and ensure water runoff does not damage sensitive flooring.

    • Avoid Harsh Methods: Do NOT use high-pressure cleaners, steamers, abrasive sponges, steel brushes, or any abrasive cleaners.

    • Hairline Cracks: Hardwood may expand and contract with climate changes, potentially forming hairline cracks. This does not compromise the structural integrity of the timber.

    • Oil Surfaces: Due to its high oil content, hardwood may release oils when exposed to rain and humidity, which can occur multiple times before naturally subsiding over several months. Deep cleaning will remove affected areas.

Deep Cleaning

For deep cleaning, use a dedicated hardwood cleaner and follow the product instructions.

Stubborn stains can be lightly sanded off with 120-grit sandpaper. Be cautious, as sanding may remove the protective coating, which will need to be reapplied. To maintain consistent color, it’s best to sand the entire surface and then reapply the protective coating. Refer to the section below for information on oil application.

Oil Application / Recommended Products

Hardwood should be treated with a coat of UV-protecting oil. We recommend reapplying a Hardwood-specific oil at the beginning and end of the outdoor season or at least once a year after thorough cleaning.

Before applying oil, ensure the teak is clean, dust-free, and completely dry. Always follow the instructions provided with your oil product.

How to care for Power coating

Regular Cleaning

To keep your powder-coated steel products in pristine condition, regular cleaning is essential to remove dirt, dust, and debris. If you live in a coastal environment, we recommend more frequent cleaning to prevent salt buildup. For cleaning, use a mixture of mild detergent or soap and water, along with a soft cloth or sponge. Avoid abrasive cleaners or scrub brushes, as they can scratch the surface.

Thorough Rinsing

After cleaning, thoroughly rinse the product with clean water. This step is crucial to remove any residual cleaning solution, which could lead to discoloration or damage over time if left untreated.

Avoid Harsh Chemicals

To protect the integrity of the powder-coated surface, avoid using harsh chemicals, alcohol-based solutions, solvents, or ammonia-based cleaners. These substances can degrade the coating and compromise its protective qualities.

Promptly Address Stains and Spills

If you encounter stains or spills on the powder-coated surface, address them promptly. Timely cleaning can prevent stains from becoming more stubborn and difficult to remove.

Combat Rust

Most of our products are aluminum base for durability. while powder-coated iron is usually used by our competitor, is not resistant to rust, minor scratches or chips in the coating can expose the underlying metal, potentially leading to rust formation.

Gentle Cleaning Methods

Please refrain from using pressure washers, as they may harm the powder-coated surface. Instead, optimize for gentle cleaning methods using a soft sponge or cloth.

Wax or Sealant Application

Enhance the longevity and visual appeal of your powder-coated steel products by applying a non-abrasive car wax or a specialized sealant designed for outdoor metals. This additional layer of protection will contribute to the vibrancy and durability of the powder coating.

How to care for Stainless steel

Caring for Stainless Steel

The sleek finish of stainless steel requires regular maintenance to preserve its reflective beauty. While it may not be entirely corrosion-free, following these guidelines can help maintain the finish of your stainless-steel items.

When cleaning, use a damp cloth and ensure you dry the surface thoroughly. For everyday marks, mild soap and water should suffice. For more stubborn stains, opt for commercial-grade cleaners specifically designed for stainless steel. Treat the stain gently to avoid scratching the surface, and refrain from using abrasive cleaners, as they can permanently dull or damage the finish.

Make sure to completely remove all cleaner residue, then apply a reputable stainless-steel polish to protect the surface from corrosion and restore its “as new” shine. When using specialized cleaning products, take care to avoid contact with any fabric or leather on your furniture.

How to care for Aluminum

Aluminum is a versatile metal known for being lightweight, strong, and resistant to corrosion. However, like any other metal, it can be susceptible to tarnishing, surface stains, and oxidation.

General Care

Thoroughly rinse the aluminum furniture with water from a garden hose. Use a damp cloth or wet wipe to remove any surface dirt. For stubborn dirt, you may use a cleaning solvent, provided it does not contain oil or bleach. Avoid using steel wool or other abrasive cleaning tools, as these can scratch the surface of the aluminum.

Maintenance
Regularly cleaning your aluminum surfaces with vinegar can help maintain their shine and prevent the buildup of dirt and grime. Here are a few tips to keep in mind:

    • Wipe down the surface with a mixture of water and vinegar after each use.

    • Use a microfiber cloth or sponge to prevent scratching the surface.

    • Dry the surface thoroughly after cleaning to avoid water spots or corrosion.

Cleaning aluminum with white vinegar is an effective and economical method for keeping your surfaces looking shiny and new.

Tips and tricks

    • Avoid using abrasive sponges or steel wool when cleaning aluminum, as they can scratch the surface.

    • Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, as they can damage the aluminum.

    • After cleaning, you may apply a small amount of olive oil to polish and protect the aluminum.

    • Just ensure you wipe away any excess oil with a clean cloth.

How to care for Rattan

General Care

To keep your furniture in top condition, we recommend cleaning it approximately once a month.

Start by using a soft brush to gently remove dirt and dust from the surfaces. Alternatively, you can use a vacuum cleaner with a soft brush attachment.

Next, prepare a soap solution using a mild detergent, agitating the water to create bubbles. Avoid using soaps with harsh chemicals that could affect the color or integrity of the rattan.

With a lint-free cloth, gently scoop up the bubbles (not the water) and use them to wipe down the furniture. For smaller crevices, you may use a toothbrush or makeup brush to work the bubbles into those areas.

Afterward, rinse the cloth with clean water, wring out the excess, and wipe down the furniture to remove any remaining soap bubbles. Finally, allow the furniture to dry completely.

How to care for Chromium Plated Steel

Caring for Chromium Plated Steel Furniture

Chromium plated steel furniture can maintain a long-lasting, lustrous finish with proper care and regular cleaning.

Gently wipe away dust and dirt, taking care not to scratch the surface. We recommend using mild soap and warm water (max 40ºC / 104°F) with a clean sponge or cloth. After cleaning, rinse with clean water and dry thoroughly with a soft cloth.

Make sure to remove all cleaner residue, then apply a reputable chromium plated steel polish to protect the surface from corrosion and restore its “as new” shine. When using specialized cleaning products, avoid contact with any fabric or leather on your furniture.

To maintain a high-quality finish, do not expose chromium plated steel to general cleaning products, water, or salt air. Avoid using silverware and brass cleaners, as they can scratch and permanently damage the coating. Never use steel wool (wire wool) to clean chromium plated steel.
